After trying out different lighting techniques I then worked in a group and  took an object and photographed a set of images to promote its sale.

We choose to photograph a perfume bottle and snapped images of it using different lighting techniques, including the studio lighting using soft boxes and snoots, direct lighting using a light box and natural light from a south facing window.

After taking our own individual images we then decided to come up with a final chosen photo, we decided to choose one from the whole set of images, below is the image we preferred from the set.

I choose this image as I liked how the lighting hit the bottle, as it was light from below it gave the object a gentle glow, this I think made the item stand out, it also emphasizes on the pink colour, I chose to take this image with a bracelet and brush in the image, this was to show the beauty associated with the product and give it a real girly feel to the image, I wanted the brush just out of shot so that it didn’t dominate the image but was still apart of the shot.

I found working in group rewarding as we all had our own opinions and advise, together we were able to make group decisions and came up with individual ideas which we all tried out, as we were all able to put our own opinion forward it made the shoot flow easier meaning we could use the range of ideas as a whole to come up wit ha complete set of images.

If i was to work in a group again I would be happy to provide my own input and listen to other ideas, I think this is what made our set of images come together nicely because instead of just one idea we had four different inputs meaning the variety of images was wider.

Working as part of a group was a good exercise as it helped to develop my people skills, and my confidence, if in the future I was faced with having to work as part of a group I feel I have the skills and confidence to work efficiently.
